It had been a long-time desire of mine to become a real estate agent. When I began my studies toward obtaining my broker’s license I was considering working for a brokerage near my home in Anna. However, when I heard that there was a CENTURY 21 franchise in Southern Illinois I quickly changed my mind. I have been familiar with the CENTURY 21 brand for much of my life due to there being a CENTURY 21 franchise in the town where my family owned a summer home in Upstate New York. Through a connection at a summer job, I got to know the top agent in that franchise. I was very impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. I knew that when I decided to pursue my career in real estate, that I wanted to strive to be an agent of the same caliper and do it with CENTURY 21. Since I was now very close to my goal of becoming a real estate agent I was extremely enthusiastic about getting the opportunity to work for CENTURY 21.
I met with Rich Davis the managing broker of CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc. about two months before I was scheduled to finish my real estate class. Prior to meeting with him I asked a couple of contacts I had within the local real estate community their opinions of him. The feedback I received from both of my contacts was very positive so I was even more excited about my upcoming meeting. When I met with Rich I was immediately impressed by his presence and demeanor. He was very much interested in getting to know me and made our first meeting very informative for me. He was open and honest about himself and his company. By the end of the meeting I knew that my contacts had been right. Rich and his co-owner and wife, Janie, care about their agents and their community. That is evident every day through their active presence in each of our four offices as well as their participation in community events and fundraisers. I am proud to call myself a broker associate with CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc. My journey has just begun. I am excited to see where I can go with the CENTURY 21 brand.
A few years ago, I became interested in a real estate career. After learning what I needed to do to obtain a license, I researched the companies in the area to determine where I would want to work. This part was simple. I went to several banks, title companies, some attorneys, and a few courthouses in the area and asked which real estate company in the area was the most professional and had the highest ethical standards. The answer was unanimous. Everyone I asked said CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc. was the real estate company that met those qualifications.
I chose to stop by the office at the Lake of Egypt and happened to meet Rich Davis. He invited me to talk with him about a career in real estate. Everything he shared with me that day and afterward confirmed what I had already heard. When I received my license I went to work with the CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc. office in Marion. Rich assigned one of the most experienced brokers in the firm to mentor/train me, along with providing regular training sessions for everyone in the company. Everything I have experienced since that time has reinforced those first impressions of an organization that is committed to the highest levels of professionalism and ethical conduct. It has been a privilege to be associated with the people in this company.
As an agent at CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc., there are many opportunities and the sky is the limit. As a new agent, I was assigned a mentor whom guided me throughout the first year (and beyond!). There are a lot of tools that are available including Dot Loop, Circle Pix and ZAP to help with marketing the homes of my clients along with keeping in touch with my present, past and future clients. Rich and Janie are always looking into how to make all of us “Smarter, Bolder, Faster.”
I am very fortunate to have a phenomenal support staff who enters the necessary requirements into the MLS, mails out correspondence along with other tasks and will help in any way they can. This allows me more time to be available to my clients.
Century 21, House of Realty, Inc. is known in the community through sponsoring local events which shows how thankful we are for our community. The people have spoken and 3 years running we have received the Southern Illinoisan Readers’ Choice Award.
I found that when you hire a CENTURY 21 agent, you hire a team. And, when an agent joins CENTURY 21, House of Realty, Inc., they become part of Rich and Janie’s CENTURY 21 family.
About 5 and a half years ago, I took a leap of faith and decided to quit my job as a counselor and dive into a new career as a full time Realtor®. This is not the type of thing one does without believing they can succeed. I hoped I could, but a larger part of what helped me to make this change was the knowledge that Richard and Janie Davis, and CENTURY 21 House of Realty believed I could! They told me they would be with me every step of the way, and they havre been...with kindness, trianing and unwaivering support!
The training is ongoing. When you begin, you are given training through the corporation of CENTURY 21 which is thorough and informative. Beyond that you are given a mentor to guide you through the first year of being a Realtor®. To this day, I still ask my mentor questions, and she asks me some, too! If you ever are in doubt or have a concern, Rich is just a phone call or text away, supporting you however he can. Ongoing training opportunities are also available both locally and nationally.
One of my favorite things about this company is the feeling of being a family. It's not something I was looking for, but I couldn't be happier to be a part of it! Rich and Janie are wonderful people who take pride in what they do and work hard to offer the best to their Realtor® associates. I never question my choice to join this company, and with every year, my success increases. This is a GREAT opportunity.
I joined the CENTURY 21 House of Realty family in 2010, making my dream of becoming a Realtor® finally come true.
I know several agents from many different companies, so making the decision on what company I wanted to work with was difficult. The one thing I knew for sure was, I didn’t want my training and learning to stop in the classroom. After talking with a few different agents, I was led in the direction of CENTURY 21 House of Realty. In meeting and talking with Rich Davis I knew I had found what I was looking for.
In our initial meeting, I learned about the New Agent Training Class, which teaches you the ins, outs and what for’s of the business. I learned about the mentor program, in which each new agent is assigned an experienced agent as their mentor for a designated period to guide them and answer any question that may arise during day to day business. I learned that every agent, old or new, has many different avenues to continue learning; and much more.
In the beginning I said that I joined the CENTURY 21 House of Realty family in 2010 and a family is what it is! From my very first day, I was accepted into the family like I was a part of it all along. I look forward to going to work, I enjoy my job and the people I work with. If you are looking for a career in real estate, you're not afraid to continue learning, you are willing to set goals and work hard to reach them and have fun doing it, then come join us at CENTURY 21 House of Realty.
When I began looking for a new career, I asked myself what I wanted in a career. Here is what I came up with: a job where I could learn and grow, a job where I would be challenged, a job where I could make a difference in people's lives, a job with good quality people to work with, a job with variety every day, a flexible schedule and the ability to make my own schedule and not be confined to a desk. That is when I decided on real estate and CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc...
CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc. filled all my criteria. I have grown as an individual while being able to help others and be challenged. It IS challenging but the rewards come from meeting a wide variety of good people and being able to guide them and help them through one of the most important decisions of their lives; buying or selling a home. Real estate is not easy, but as everyone knows, nothing in life that is worthwhile is.
