Richard J. Davis, president and owner of CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc, Inc., was born in November of 1956 and raised in Davenport, Iowa. He is the second of four children born to John and Marilyn Davis. Rich, as his friends call him, developed a strong work ethic as a newspaper carrier for the Des Moines Register and Quad City Times. Rich attended St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa where he was a Mass Communications major. He worked as an on air radio personality during his years at St. Ambrose University and on radio stations KWNT in Davenport and WQUA in Moline, Illinois. During his college days, Rich also worked as a part time District Manager in the circulation department of the Quad City Times newspaper, molding young newspaper carriers into young business people. In 1980, Rich married his wife, Janie, and decided to pursue a career in the newspaper industry. He went on to advance his career to the level of Circulation Director, working for various Lee Enterprise newspapers, eventually leading him to the Southern Illinoisan newspaper in Carbondale, Illinois.
In 1996, after 16 years in newspaper marketing, Rich entered the real estate industry as a licensed Illinois Sales Agent, hanging his license with CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc. In his first year with the company, he was nominated for Rookie of the Year in the Heartland region of Century 21. In 1999, his wife, Janie became a licensed Sales Agent as well, assisting in growing their business. They have built their success by living up to their motto "Your CENTURY 21 Total CARE Package". CARE is an acronym for Clients Are Reasons to Excel; the standard Rich and Janie live by each and every day. Rich and Janie took the next step in their professional careers and purchased the company in April of 2006. CENTURY 21 House of Realty, Inc. is now in the top 100 CENTURY 21 real estate companies in the nation and well positioned to continue being the strongest real estate company in Southern Illinois.
