The annual Herrinfesta Italiana puts Herrin in the spotlight! The event lasts for 5 days in downtown Herrin leading up to its rocking finale on Memorial Day. During this long weekend, you can bring your family for the carnival, the food, a Bocce Ball Tournament, different concerts, the Miss Herrinfesta Italiana contest and so much more! Past, present and even stars of tomorrow grace the stages at this wildly popular spring festival. Everyone in southern Illinois is Italian during Herrinfesta!
Likely due to its rich Italian heritage, Herrin is home to the only catholic school in Williamson county. St Marys provides elementary education in conjunction with Our Lady of Mt Carmel parrish.
